The Nový Jičín Region is located in a picturesque landscape reaching from the promontory of Nizký Jeseník (Low Ash Mountains), through the fertile valley of the Moravian Gate, to the foothills of the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy Mountains in the south-east. It is a region with an unusual concentration of monuments. It has three monument reservations in the towns of Nový Jičín, Štramberk and Příbor and three municipal monument zones in the towns of Fulnek, Bílovec and Odry.
